NFPA 1901: 2011 Edition
Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus. New Requirements as of NFPA 1901, 2009 edition release.
Traffic Safety Equipment. All apparatus must carry the following: 1. 28-in high fluorescent orange traffic cones with double reflective markings. 2. 5 illumination warning devices, such as flares. 3. one traffic safety vest meeting current ANSI standards for each seating position.
Rear Reflective Markings. All vehicles must have 50% of rear-facing vertical surface covered with reflective red and yellow stripes in a chevron pattern sloping downward from the center of the vehicle at a 45 degree angle. Stripes must be 6" wide.
